Wedding and Anniversary Rings Are in High Demand

Couples everywhere are becoming engaged or married every single weekend. Wedding and anniversary rings are flying off the shelves. Along with the rising number of weddings comes a rise in divorce rates. Crazy kids everywhere are rushing into one of the biggest decisions they will ever make in their entire lives. Not only is this careless, but it is also impacting the sanctity of marriage itself. Gone are the days of "until death do us part." The new revolution of lovers lives by the phrase, "Hey, let's give this a go. Why not?" This new way of thought is not only affecting the institute of marriage, but it is also shaping our future children to think about love in a very dangerous manner.

The world is not sheltered from multiple marriages, stepchildren, and half children. This has been going on for quite sometime. Take Elizabeth Taylor, for instance. She was married eight times (twice to the same man) and created a chaotic world of constant wedding planning and stepfathers for her four children. Although this is an extreme example of someone taking marriage for granted, it still serves as a warning to future generations. Just because you meet someone and instantly lust for them, that does not mean that this will result in a healthy marriage.

Another very hotly debated topic is that of gay marriage. Many people think individuals who are gay should not have the same "privileges" as straight people when it comes to marrying. This way of thinking is not only narrow-minded, but it also sends a terrible message that gay people are inferior to straight people. How is someone inferior and not deserving of their human rights just because of their sexual preferences? This would be like saying people who are born with blond hair and blue eyes are superior to their brunette counterparts... doesn't that sound familiar? No matter your preference in men or women, we are all still people. Your personal life (whether gay or straight) does not dictate the other aspects of your life. Whether or not someone is a productive member of society solely depends on the individual.

When choosing someone to spend the rest of your life with, take your time and make sure this is a decision you can live with forever. Wedding and anniversary rings are not to purchase every few months because you got bored with someone and decided to move on.
