People get engaged every single day. Of course, when you discover someone is newly engaged, the first question is, "Can I see the ring?" Recently engaged women will be more that eager to show off the new engagement ring. Inevitably, the story of how he proposed is told and women are gush about the romance involved. Most everyone enjoys a great love story. However, it is always fun and entertaining to hear the stories of the proposals that went horribly wrong! We are taught as humans that we should have compassion for others, but looking back on another person's misfortune can be hilarious... as long as enough time has passed so that it is actually funny.
Similar to any other very special occasion, so many things could go wrong. Professional jewelers are able to help men go to great lengths to ensure that the proposal day is perfect. You should always have a backup plan though, because you never know what could happen. Unforeseen circumstances arise every day. We have all heard the horrible stories about proposals going wrong. One specific story comes to my mind: John and Sara had been dating for two years. They met at a pool party for a mutual friend. John finally decided to pop the question and made a reservation at a nice restaurant. He gave the ring to the server to put in the dessert. When it was time for dessert, the server brought the ring, John proposed, Sara said yes then they paid they tab and went home happily engaged. When they got home, they realized they left their take out box. Usually this would not be a problem, but in that box was the ring Sara had on before the proposal. It was her grandmother's ring and was very important to her. So of course they went back to the restaurant to find that the box had already been thrown out. The newly engaged couple spent the next hour rummaging through the dumpster in search of the ring. It was eventually found, thank goodness. Even if it was slightly dirty, the ring was recovered. Of course that was a tragic event, but now the couple looks back and can laugh about their engagement. It is definitely a great story when people ask her about her ring!
The moral of the story is that even if your engagement does not go as planned, down the road you will be able to laugh it off. Engagement rings all over the world each have a story about one of the most special nights of the couple's lives.
